Dead squirrels?

You've hit the nail on the head there  We take the micky but she does very well for 85, we've even bought her a lightweight battery operated hedge trimmer, the electric one was getting too heavy for her to use

Yes Ron, I see Dave John's picture there of the tree-rat. Looking at your information about them on your PestControl site should dispel any notion of them as being cute.

A friend of mine nearly had his house destroyed by a squirrel. The creature fell down a chimney and got trapped behind a gas fire in the lounge while the owners were away. When they returned from holiday, they found the lounge trashed, and thought at first they had been burgled. It was only later that they realised that a squirrel had gnawed its way through the gas fire and then tried to gnaw through the window sill, at which point it died. It was all fixed by Insurance, but they had a difficult job at first persuading the Insurance Company that their claim was genuine !  

Another nasty thing about grey squirrels is that their fleas carry all sorts of unpleasant diseases including plague. The fleas will also be on the branches of the tree, causing problems for Tree Surgeons working on squirrel-infested trees.

Squirrels also destroy otherwise healthy trees by stripping off the bark. All in all, the grey squirrel is a very unpleasant variety of vermin, and not to be encouraged, even by unintentional feeding.
