There's a Scary Walk in the Walled Gardeb at Whitworth Hall Country Park every Halloween!  It's to raise money for a local Hospice, so it's all in a good cause.  Some of the staff get dressed up and jump out on people as they walk along the paths!  I was asked to go by a colleague about two years ago to get some pics.  I missed the shot of the night of course!  That opportunity came when someone jumped out of the shrubbery just in front of her!  She almost took off (about 6 feet in the air) and I couldn't move for laughing!!!  She said 'Thanks for the sumpathy'.  I said I hadn't offered her any!  LOL Tongue out

If you go to the Muncaster Castle web site, there is a picture there of Tom Fool.  He is one creepy looking fella.  I don't like looking at it, I've seen it for real.

Anyways I'd thought I would go up there near halloween, there having a walk through the castle with all the lights out, and just torches for company.

Hi Karen:  Very cool!  I never knew about Tom Fool.  I'm guessing that's where the expression "tomfoolery" comes from??

Boo, everyone!

I found this shot of Jason's to be beautiful, yet quite eerie as well:

Nothing like a dark corridor to set the mood:

Looks like something straight out of an old horror film:

Hi Ruth

It certainly is where the expression comes from.  Where the castle is located, below it is an eastuary.  If Tom didn't like people who were passing, he used to send them over the estuary into quick sands.  Nice bloke eh.

It's really eerie, as if it's just waiting for the 'Resurrection Men' to come and dig up a cadaver ot two...

Hi Karen:  Yeah, a really nice bloke.  NOT!  Thanks for the info.  There's a lot of expressions in our language that come out of some obsure person, place or incident from history.

Here's one of mine that looked a little scary to me.  When I washed to color out of it, it looked even creepier.

Our Jason certainly has a talent for capturing the mood of a place.  These are pretty creepy!
