I hang my head in shame to say I don't remember seeing the church/museum while there. Probably too busy watching the bird life . |

What a treasure trove! Can you imagine how much it would cost to build a building like that in today's dollars/pounds? Or something like York Minster. My husband guesstimated York Minster would probably cost around a billion dollars to build today.

No computers, no power tools or cranes, not even a slide rule. LOL The only building that I've ever been in here in the US that even comes close to all the wonderful stuff over there is the US Capitol, in Washington, DC. I believe it was built between 1800 and 1825, so it's relatively new by ancient buidling standards. lol
