Thanks Ruth - I'm glad you enjoyed it too. Think I will add to the tours thread as Maria suggested.

I couldn't see a way of adding favourite tours yet Debbie, maybe Ron or POE may know different? You can add this thread to your favourites though and access it that way.

Debbie, if you are coming in September, this is the end of our summer, (can still be nice and warm though) and if its been a warm summer (as predicted) the grass could look a little 'browner in colour and drier. the sun also sets about 8pm at that time of year. Heres a rough guide to our seasons-

January - sun rises about 8am -sets 4pm (8 hours daylight) sunny/rainy or snow

Feb - sunrises 8am sets 4pm weather as above -Flowers appearing (snowdrops)

March- Spring starts, days get longer Daffodills and tulips apearing

April - rain showers, but can be warm and sunny lots of spring flowers, tree blossom etc

May - Sun rises about 5am sets 8/9pm (16 hours daylight) warm but fresh green everywhere.

June - longest days, only 6 hours darkness, flowers and gardens in full bloom, lots of festivals etc. warm weather.

July - long days (School hols start, busy)

Aug- as per July

Sept - could be late summer weather, harvest time, nice autumn colours on trees etc , fiels plouged and green turning to biege

Oct - days shorter, dark at 6pm nature getting ready for winter

Nov. - long nights, bonfire plot, festivals etc

Dec - What can I say but ITS CHRISTMAS TIME, no need to explain that one lol

Hi Debbie. From where I live its a 6 hour drive to Cornwall. Could be quicker but my wife likes to stop for a break. Lol. I have been going to Cornwall for holidays since 1996. Since 2002 we have been going 2 or 3 times a year and still have not seen everything. The wife and I love it down there and would love to live there.

Thanks sooo much Peter!! I have been struggling if we would be better to go north  so we think we will head toward cornwall and if we have time we will play it by ear and maybe head up north as far as we can.  What area do you live in peter, just trying to figure the drive time?

I live in the east of UK Debbie. Essex. Where we normaly go in Cornwall, is about a 350 mile drive. I try to keep away from motorways but, unfortunately,we have to use the biggest car park in the UK,the M25 motorway, grrrrr. Once in Cornwall, whichever road you take, the A38 or the A30 takes you through some beautifull countryside. If you are going from London the M4 to the M5 will be the quickest rout, but nowhere near as nice a journey.

If you do go to Cornwall, can I recomend a visit to Flambards. Ideal for a rainy day too. It is a trip into the past that is well worth seeing. If you want to see what it was like living in Victorian England this is the place. All under cover, and you can walk through a Victorian town, look in shops and walk into houses as well. They even have a walk through London in the blitz.. It is very realistic. Oh God, I better stop before  bore you to death.
