Don't do badly all year round actually Ruth. I grow cymbidium orchids as a bit of a sideline .... only small scale, selling to local florists as and when they want them.

Here's the Photobucket album if you're interested

Hi Kahu.  Very cool, I love orchids.  Can't see your pics though.  I think if you post the link, you probably need to go to the page and then copy and paste the address of the actual page that has the orchid photos.

Kia ora/Hi  Richard ....

Temperatures are still a bit cool one day, then warm the next. We've had the coldest October since 1945 ..... average temperature 10.6°C nationwide ...... -1.4°C below average. August nationwide average was 10.4°C ...... still, its getting warmer!

Wow, what a lovely garden, Kahu.  I like the Bodmin moors. I see several of the same plants in landscaped yards here in Phoenix, Arizona, especially the NZ hibiscus and he Bird of Paradise.  Thank you for putting up the link to your album.  It's lovely.

My yard's a mess right now, but I planted some lantanas on Sunday in a bed I'd pretty much given up on.
