Thanks for those Vince.  In view of the fact that I think there are a lot more places/attractions/things to do and see and gorgeous pics I am going to open a new Whistle Stop Tour for each County, I will still stick with the two day tour, but the thread will then remain open for anyone to add more suggestions.

I see today that a number of Cornwall & Devon pics have been submitted and I think it would be a shame if they could not be added to this thread.

So this Whistle stop tour will cover ISLES OF SCILLY, CORNWALL & DEVON and from now each county will get it's own Whistle Stop Tour Thread.

Thanks to everyone who has added to this tour.

So I hope you will meet up with me tomorrow morning to start the next leg of our journey - look for the new English Counties, -(name)-----, A Whistle Stop Tour Smile

No time today to join the tour. Loved all the contributions and have a lot to add on my "want to do" and "want to see" list

I really hoped that these Whistle Stop tours would help us to create our own "real-life" tours and it seems to have worked for you Ted, I am thrilled Smile

You all are so creative.  Cathy, you must be kicking yourself thinking, "why on earth did I ever leave England?"  The photos are beautiful!!!!  We had the privilege of driving across Devon last summer, but we were hurrying over to Cornwall from Dorset, so didn't spend too much time there.  Now I'm kicking myself!

Here are a bunch of my favorite Devon pics, Clovelly, courtesy of Rafal:

Thanks so much for adding those gorgeous photos of Rafal's Clovelly, Ruth and hope others will add more pictures, suggestions, experiences, anecdotes, memories and tour ideas on to this thread in the future.  The more ideas we get the fuller our own tour experiences will be (besides we won't be likely to miss anything worth seeing either, will we)?

I have now moved on for a whistle stop tour of DORSET and this will be found on another thread - English Counties - DORSET - A Whistle Stop Tour.  Do come along and enjoy the ride and add your pics and info.  Look forward to bumping into you at one of the many gorgeous places in Dorset.  See you there!Smile
