I think if we are going to make any real progress on the Featured Photographer it is going to have to become one per week instead of one/two per month.  So watch out for lots more beautiful pics from our wonderful POE photographers.

Hi All,

I was surprised to see my name on the list of featured photographers for Jan 2011, courtesy of Cathyml. Naturally I am delighted that my pictures are of interest, and have received some favourable comments. I enjoy the variety of pics here on PoE, but I realise that server capacity is getting stretched, and I have deleted a few of my older pics, hence there are some blanks in the links on the forum page Edward Lever. Please let me know if you want any pics re-instated.

Do you mean why was there no Featured Photographers in February? 

Otherwise there is a separate thread for each Featured Photographer.

Having fond the thread by accident, I noticed a, that there were several feaured photographers each month, and then your post that you thought it should become a weekly event but then there were no mosre entries after the 16th of January. I have to say that following the threads and looking at the supberb photographs was an enjoyable experience.

I am so glad you enjoyed it Sally.  When I started the threads there was quite a lot of participation but the latter ones didn't get quite the same amount of recognition I thought they deserved.  Rightly or wrongly I thought that perhaps it wasn't something that other members enjoyed so I didn't do anymore.  I didn't want it to become just my personal preferences of our wonderful photographers work.

Now I have checked back over the Featured Photographer Threads I see I haven't added the last one to the list above and remedy that lack now,  sorry Peggy.

The idea is that members add their personal favourite pictures onto the individual thread for each featured photographer.

Perhaps other members would like to say if this is something that they would like to see continued.   It is not done in any order of preference, it is based solely on the date the photographer joined POE.
