As i have been reasonably good this year,it's been suggested that i might be getting my first digital camera, but there are so many on the market i was wondering if there are any you might suggest? I would like a camera that i can zoom in on, especially for garden birds, etc.and is reasonably straight forward to use.. Any ideas?... Debbie.. |

About £280 from John lewis. 30x Optical zoom amd great as a first camera as so much is automatically set for you.But also able to input ownsettings as yu become more proficient and experienced. See Fuji website for details, also lots of videos on Youtube showing it in action. Hope of some help Also see topic : Photographic Equipment, lots of useful info on there.

The camera has a 12x optical zoom (plus 4x digital zoom) Leica lens and is 10.1 megapixels. It has a minimum of controls and a very nice automode for fast and easy shots, but will also allow much more control of apeture, etc., if you want to fiddle around with the camera settings later on. It has a decent movie mode as well. It is quite compact has a good size 2.7 in. LCD viewer and it takes fantastic photos. Here is a description and review of the camera via Steve's Digicams site: http://www.steves-digicams.com/camera-reviews/panasonic/lumix-dmc-zs1/panasonic-lumix-zs1-review.html Also click on the "Physical Views" area on the left to see all angles of the camera. This website (one of many, of course) offers very good photographic advice and seems to me to be a bit more "real world" than other camera review sites I have used.Edited by: Rob Faleer at:16th November 2010 14:41 |
