There are 2 methods....one just requires a simple free down load and a recent version of Adobe reader, which is also free, the other requires the use of Photoshop Elements (or CS), and a copy of the December issue of DIGITAL PHOTO magazine which is out now, the cover of which shows 'The RAW ISSUE' in yellow!!! to help you identify it. The first can be downloaded from http://www.apollostemplates.com/templates-calendars/ and simply follow the very easy instructions. There are 2 options....a 1 sheet 12 month calendar showing a single image or 12 separate months each with a different image, the choice is yours. And also I think the templates are adjustable for a few years to come so you can save them to your computer and work at them to your hearts content. The only drawback I can see with this method is that you cannot save the result to your hard drive, you can only print it, unless you buy Adobe Acrobat Professional ! ! ! ! which is expensive to say the least.....in excess of £500 The second is a little more complicated, but much more adaptable, as it requires a basic working knowledge of Elements (or CS) although there is a very easy to understand 'walkthrough' in the magazine with a much easier and more detailed series of videos on the CD that accompanies the magazine. With this option you can create a front cover for your creation and single or multiple images to each monthly page. All you need to do then is go to your local friendly print shop and see if they can bind the pages for you to make it a more professional looking production. Once you have tried it I think you will be hooked as there is no end to what you can create and judging by the photos I see daily on POE a lot of you have plenty to chose from. So have a look, it is an interesting and enjoyable way to show off your images, and if you do go into the business of self publication let me know how you get on. I got nothing but praise from the recipients of the calendars I produced the last couple of years. As I have always said....you don't know how good you are until someone tells you.....POE does this regularly and so will your creations. Have fun. . . .

I have done this in the past and all it needs is a trip to a craft store to pick up a calendar with blank pouches for you to slot in the various pics of your choice. Very much a more basic version of can be done as Dave has said but still as personal and as I have said before I don't have any fancy photo editing so that is a Hobson's choice solution. |
