You take superb pictures Zbigniew. John's pictures of today are, once again, very striking including the one taken with a phone.

I'm not going to give up, thanks to you, the regulars who have enriched this thread with what seems to me to make a lot of sense.

Cheers gentlemen!

Yes John, we each have our own ideas of what makes a good image, more reason to use the star system properly, not always giving 5's. You don't care too much for one of todays, yet I think it is quite good and our respective ratings show that. This must the way to go forward I think, say what you think and score accordingly. if you think can help someone improve an image why not say so, politely and constructively.

We have five stars. Seems a bit daft to only use the top mark for all pictures to which we apply remarks and award stars.

It is all subjective to a point, but blurred images and lack of any regard for composition will be pretty obvious to anyone. Perhaps just ignoring the truly awful is an open invitation to upload in bulk regardless of anything but some weird desire to have a huge total number of accepted submissions.

I see stars after a few too many good real ales, but it is great fun to just go out with a camera and capture what I see around me. I used to,take a lot of pictures for the local CAMRA branch so I could take pictures and sometimes end up seeing stars!

The key to sucess is plenty of practise, and being a life member of CAMRA has provided me with the chance to do just that. Oh yes, and take a few pictures too!

Too much over indulgence can lead to camera shake, not really sure why!
