Most definitely is, but we have also just been upgraded to 'fibre optic' connection at work but cannot see any real difference.....supposed to be average 50mb download but my system at home seems a lot quicker with it's meagre average of 10mb.....progress eh!!!

We were promised 8mb, on a good day it's more like 4mb.  We had to campaigne for a few years to get broadband in the first place. Apparantly, there has to be at least 1000 potenial customers per acre before it's financially viable - that's what the explanation sounded like:)
