Hello everyone, my name is Karen and live at Millom in Cumbria.  Its a small costal town on the edge of the lake district.

I volunteer at the Millom Folk Museum, which I really enjoy.  The museum is well worth a look if you are ever nearby.  Its all about Millom's industry and how we used to live.  Millom's history was Iron mining until they closed the pits in 1968.

I started being interested in photography a couple of years ago, when I got my digital camera, and never looked back.

There are some really nice photo's on this website, lets keep them coming.

Hi Karen

Welcome to POE and as you say some great pictures, but hang on a minute where are all the other 'welcome Karens' from the members? C'mon fellow POE members were letting Karen down here a bit aren't we?

Hi Karen, Ron is on the button as usual, we have been a bit tardy in welcoming you. So welcome to our site. I am still trying to catch up myself, after a hard drive crash and a stint in hospital.

Glad to hear that you are getting into photography. And I have seen some of your photo's here, thanks. Looking forward to seeing more.

Peter

Oh you aren't here alone, that's for sure.

I would love to live on the coast (especially in England), I know the weather can get really bad, but you learn to live with it, right?

Look forward to your posts and pictures.

Hi Sue

It's great here on the coast.  Your right about the weather though.

People make me laugh - it's either too wet, windy, cold and when the sun comes out it's too hot.

You can't win ha haCool

Hi Karen:

Ruth from AZ here.  You had asked in your comment on my Tower Bridge picture if we went to the top.  Yes, we did.  Very cool!

I see you're from Cumbria.  When I first found this website, I surfed it by County. Cumbria is TOP SHELF!  I hope to visit some day.
