Wow Kelly. Now look what you started!! Welcome to Pictures of England....I've very recently joined and I'm loving it already. Unfortunately work takes up a lot of my time, but I'll be spending as much time as possible here. I live 30 miles from York, next time I'm there I'll take some pictures for you. In fact, I think I have a few on file, I'll look them out and post them here. Andy.

Yes, Andy I`m enjoying the pictures of England site too. Last year when I was visiting England I travelled on a bus tour to York and other cities. It was amazingly beautiful there. I didn`t get to spend as much as wanted there but will definitely go back in the future(hoping for May 2009). What is life like there? Quiet or people running around like there heads cut off (expression we use here when people don`t have the time to slow down). In England do you get tea breaks at work? Silly questions. It just seems when I watch any english programs on tv everyone seems to quite relaxed. Do you live in the city or village and what is it like there? I`d love to see your photographs, that would be fantastic.

Kelly, York is an amazing place, as you can imagine there are many tourists that visit all year round...of course Summer (June to August) is the busiest time. Being a very small city the traffic is quite heavy at peak times, but inside the walls is much quieter, this is where you will find the Minster and most of the shops and attractions. You can view the city from an open top bus if you like....they are very reasonably priced and a great way to see the city. We do indeed get tea breaks, usually a quarter to half an hour in the morning, then an hour or so for dinner, with another short break in the afternoon. You will find the people are very friendly in York, you will also notice that in summer especially, people from all over the world will be exploring the city as you are. I live in a village not far from York and all around is beautiful countryside, it's a wonderful place to live, I am blessed!
