We are all very glad to have you join us, and hope that you are going to post to the forum often, even share some of your 2006 pictures with us. What a wonderful idea to treat your daughter to a trip for graduation, I just know she will love it. See you around. |

If you are travelling north from Scotch Corner, you must take a short diversion and visit Durham City. Its only Five miles off the motorway and i am sure that you would regret missing seeing some of the most beautiful buildings ever built. There are pictures of the city on this site. Have a look and see if you agree. With this being a university city there is plenty of night life for the younger ones, your daughter would like that i'm sure. Regards Roy J. |

What if I were to be walking around the Lake District with my new Canon, looking at all the other people taking photos (as one does) and there you are, but I don't know it because I have never seen a picture of you. There, have I plead my case well? Good, I expect a picture next time you post . |

Roy I have been to Durham and just loved it, the market was absolutely wonderful, it was the first time I have had ginger cheese. My sister and I picked up some goodies and took them back to our room and gorged on the wonderful cheeses and wines. The cathedral was beautiful, but the university was closed down for repairs and we didn't get to see it. Meg, I have a lot of people wanting me to adopt them, I am thinking it may help on my taxes if I take them all up on it, I could have quite a family going on here. I am glad the drinking age is 18, Julia will be quite excited to have a drink at a pub, where we live the nearest bar is about 25 miles away. I took her and a girlfried of hers out when they turned 19 but I think that was the last time they have seen the inside of a tavern. |
