Hi again Ray S. Now that I have got my welcome in, I can relax and talk some sense (the point is the forum members all try to beat me to the welcome for a new member. I suppose you join the queue also now though). As for your comment about technology, I am not particularly good at being PC literate. However, I am very good at dishing out really cutting remarks about the forum members who just love a bit of banter!

The website? Well it really is fantastic and it will take you ages to get through it all, whether it's the Guestbook, pictures, England hotels (you can get them cheaper by booking via the POE website), maps, attractions, 40,000 plus towns and villages listed, history, famous Brits, events the list goes on and on! A fantastic site and forum that really does get you hooked. It's funny most times, serious when the ladies get involved (but we mainly ignore them) so be warned, if you can't sit down for an hour or so at the PC then don't sit down at all! Good luck with your pics, I look forward to looking through them.

If my memory serves me right Chris & Sarah....didnt you send an email out quite a while ago asking the members what they thought of this? I do believe I suggested leaving it as Pictures of England, but why not have a poll to see what everyone thinks? Personally, I think it will get too confusing having all of the UK on one site, but thats just my opinion for what its worth lol

Hi Everyone.  Thank you for your warm welcome. Mari, you are absolutely right; what a great bunch of guys and gals you are.

Lynne, thank you for the warning about needing time to savour all the photographic and verbal treats on this site, This could be a 'flask and sandwiches' project for me.

I am still grappling with the technicalities of 'posting', but after a few false starts, I think I have made it, By Jove! At least I am typing in the correct box. I look forward to browsing again soon.

P.s. I am sorry to cause confusion by being a 'Ray' blame me mother for that! If it gets too troublesome; I can change my name by deed poll! I knew a guy called Lancelot Greenhorn once...that has a certain ring to it don't you think?

Regards from Ray S.

Hi Jacqeline. Thank you for your welcome and the reassurances about the name change. I have just thought of another possibility. I knew of an American guy called Dorman Turnipseed the Third.  Now there is a name to conjure with !
