Hi Jo:  That's the best way to travel.  When we were there we based ourselves in a lttle suburb of York called Fulford and drove around as much of N. Yks as we could in 6 days.  We had an apt. with a washer/dryer and we shopped at the super market, Sainsbury's I believe it was, and it was just like being at home.  I cried when we left.  Problem for us was that we were there in November, when there was only about 8 hours of daylight.  Must be lovely there this time of year, when you have more time to drive around.

Hi Karen!  Hope everything's fine in Cumbria today!

bye, bye,  RG

Hi Ruth

It's fine up my way.  I went to Darlington today to watch the Touring Cars at Croft.  It was a complete washout.  We ended up coming home early.  I was a bit miffed I can tell you.  When we got back over to Cumbria it faired up.

That's life I suppose.

When do they expect the weather to clear up over there?  It seems like it's been a week or more of rain.  The sun's splittin the rocks over here today, as they say.  We most likely won't see rain now until about the 2nd week of July when the monsoon season starts.

Hi Ruth, "Cor", has a lot of meanings. Surprize, disdain and sometimes when you see a pretty lady you say Cor,Thats nice. When I said it about you, it meant thats not fair. Very versatile word is COR.

Hello Jo:

They have a little tradition here of competing to be the first to welcome a new forum member

Hello Jo,

I have my own little tradition...I stay as far behind the 8 ball as humanly possible when greeting new members. LOL!Laughing
Not on purpose of course; I just can't seem to get to the posts fast enough.Cry

Never-the-less, my welcome to you is a warm as any of the others of my comrades here! Laughing

Thank you Diana - I can't seem to get in quickly either.  Perhaps we should get up at 3am to stand a chance of competing!

Hello Jo, sorry I'm late with the welcome, I hope you're enjoying this brilliant site! I've been a bit busy with other things lately so please excuse my tardiness. Andy.
