Hi, greetings from Holland, to all you loving people out there,Since I’m new on this forum, let me first introduce myself. My name is Bert (short for Albert) and we (my wife and I) life just outside a small village in the most northern part of the Netherlands. We have been traveling along the Uk quite a lot off times over the last couple off years.I only stumbled over this site last Sunday, after a long trip trough the UK (from Newcastle to Aberdeen, from there through the Lake District to Liverpool and further on down to Wells near Bath. We’ve finished this trip by staying at the Lizard in Cornwall for a couple off days.)I was just looking for pictures of all the places we’ve been so far, but it stuck me that there are hardly any pictures on the web of all the beautiful spots England has to offer. So, I’m not a real photographer, but I like to shoot pictures of all the beautiful spots and share them.I’m nearly, (this Friday is my Birthday) 58 years young, had the opportunity to retire at 55 and still have a lot of friends in the UK. Not to mention our daughter, who has been married to a Scotsman and lives in a small village just outside Aberdeen. So you see, we’ve been able to visit a lot of your beautiful country over the last couple of years.

Hello Albert. Welcome to the site. Hope you have lots of photos to post from this visit. Now that you have found us, please come back in and have a chat with us. We are all slightly mad, but thats what helps to make it a fun site. You will find enough photos to last you months of looking.

Welcome to this lovely web site Bert. You've certainly seen a lot of England.  I love your area of the Netherlands but unfortunately haven't been there for a few years now.

No doubt some of the "welcomes" you will get will mention that we are all mad - don't believe it.  Some of us are normal!!!

   to the forum Bert.

It sounds like you will fit in here very well with you love of England. That is the one thing we all have in common, oh, and the fact that we are all slightly mad too. I hope you are slightly mad, it really does help.

I hope you plan on submitting your pictures. We certainly don't expect professional quality, as we are, for the most part (we do have some exceptional photographers here) amateurs who like to, like you, capture the beauty of England (and Scotland, Wales and Ireland).

I certainly hope you plan on popping by on Friday, as you may just find a birthday thread dedicated to you.

Welcome Bert! Look forward to seeing your pictures from the trip! I love the Lizard - I will see if I have any photos too. The trouble is there are so many beautiful places in England we are bound to miss some but we are all working on it!
