Hi everyone.

I've already been in contact with some of you and made some contributions to a couple of threats.

Browsing through the site I came across this "formal" way of introducing yourself and since I like talking about me (who doesn't...... like to talk about me ;) I will contribute hereby.

So my name is Cor and I am from Holland. I live in a smal town to the east of Holland but was born in Rotterdam 49 years ago (almost 50). If my birthday falls on Xmas day again this year, then I assume it is no coincendence anymore ;)

I have a 25 year old (young) daughter Marieke who is doing the Acadany Of Arts over here and I am very proud of her.

8 years ago I have been living in New Zealnad for a year-and-a-half and even found work as a tutor in ICT. They were going to continue the contract for another year but at the last moment they didn't. And so I had to leave NZ. Still a bit homesick but I found out I missed Marieke too much so I have decided not to go back.

My greatest hobby is drawing portrets. On WWW.HYVES.NL you can find some of my work, just look for a MrCor. I might be making a living out of it if things continue the way they are at the moment, we'll see.

I started a threat about castles being open to the public and the responses so far have been great, thanks you all !!!

I play the guitar and sing along with it. I used to play in several bands. But at the moment I can barely play since I have this problem with my left elbow (I've tried to find the right word for it English but I can't find it).

I am particular fond of English humor, Monthy Python, Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army, Are You Being Served, Man About The House, etc. etc. etc.

Ok, a little sucking up now, I just love to talk English. I think this language gives you the best opportunities to express yourself and somehow it feels natural. I don't like Holland. As far as I'm concerned they can shuffle it 300 miles to the west, into the North Sea ("are you serious Cor?".....mmmmm.)

When I used to teach in NZ every now and then I couldn't find the right words in English and I excussed myself by saying "I had a bad English-day". I kept saying that until one of my students replied "that still better then a good Dutch-day........... From that moment on I stopped excusing myself... ;)

Ok, that's it for now. I could go on telling so much more about myself but some server would probably give a warning like "out of memory" or "out of harddisk-space"... ;)

I enjoy a good conversation and I'm looking forward to hear more from you.

Cheers, Cor

Maybe Lyn you should visit the east side of Holland. Everyone seems to think Holland is Amsterdam, bulbs, wooden shoes and marihuana..... and you would be right, what else is there...? ;)

BTW, if anyone is interested in my Hyves-site (and who isn't?) don't look for a MrCor but for Cor Faber. My fault, sorry.

Hi Cor

I've already welcomed you on another thread but welcome again anyway.  We love Holland but haven't been for several years and I remember we won a HUGE bunch of tulips on the eve of a flower carnival.  Can't remember exactly where it was though.
