I've never tried 'posh' meat like pheasant, it really doesn't appeal to me.

Last time I was in Cornwall, every morning and evening, driving down a very narrow country lane I had to slow right down for a male phessant. I beeped the horn and reved the car, but he just looked round and walked slowly down the lane. Five days he did this. Then on the sixth day, I saw him squished in the middle of the lane. Someone too impatient to give him time to get out of the way I suppose. I missed trying to ge that bird to move, it became a game that we both seemed to enjoy.
