I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful site. I cannot get enough of England. Found this site when searching. Wow! I check it out everyday and even put in some of my own pictures. We visited this beautiful country this spring and loved every moment. Can't wait to come back. There is so much to see and do. My husband loves the history. I love the countryside and anything oldy worldy. Nothing in Canada can compare with seeing and touching something built by the Romans. Wow. Congratulations on the site and all the lovely pictures. Keep up the good work.

Welcome from me too Barb and hope you enjoy all the site has to offer. Finished my high schooling in Winnipeg at John Taylor Collegiate in the late '60s when we lived just off Portage Ave. and later, just off Ness Ave. I expect it's changed a bit since then.

Hi there gentlemen. Thanks for the welcome, much appreciated. I know I am going to enjoy this site. It probably will become my second home, lol

Paul I can't believe you know Winnipeg. Wow. Small world eh. I know the area quite well. In fact I lived just off Ness myself. Berry St or Ferry Road? Unicity is gone and big boxes have moved in.

Know it well indeed Barb.  Dad was in the RCAF and wrote the tune Winnipeg '74 for it's Centennial which I have on their LP here. Formerly of the Norad Band in Colorado Springs, he was then stationed in Winnipeg with the RCAF's Training Command Band which is how I continued my high schooling there. First lived on Cavalier Drive and then Conway Ave. on the airbase. As you say, small world.  Nice to meet you and look forwards to your posts etc.

Hi Barb, and welcome from me to from over the pond. It is indeed a small world, I had a quick look at your photos, I see you visited Wrest Park in Silsoe when you were over here, I've been there many many times. I literally live about 5 mins down the road from there! You should have popped in for tea and biccies en route lol Smile

Hi Barb and welcome to the best website and forum on the net! We really are a kind of family here, with lots to explore throughout the POE site as well. You can even book cheap hotels for your next trip. Anyway, I can see you will get on very well in the forum because you say 'I love the countryside and anything oldy worldy'. Well Peter Evans fits that category exactly! See what I mean we have fun, enjoy the site and the members they are a great bunch of people!
