My name is John Bowley. I live in the village of Chinnor in Oxfordshire. I recently retired and now wonder how I ever had the time to go to work. I am married to Kay who is from the USA. All of Kays family are in Arkansas but Kay was living in San Francisco when we first met  We married five years ago so she is now almost a Brit. We have a lovely one year old grandson here in Oxfordshire and another lovely grandson in Arkansas where Kay's son still lives.

I stumbled across this site yesterday and it seems to have lots of beautiful photographs. I am no photographer but love taking lots of photos. Kay enjoys sending them to her family so she can share her experiences with them. Showing Kay around the country in the last five years has been a joy and allowed me to again realise what a beautiful country we live in. I keep trying to tell her that the weather is similar to California but she still doesnt believe me. I dont know why....

Hi John,

Welcome to POE, I also stumbled upon this site and have enjoyed every minute of it.  The pictures are stunning, and the people are warm and welcoming, you could not ask for more.  I am envious of Kay, what I would do to live in UK and have a private tour guide, very lucky lady.  The weather may not be the same as California, but you certainly have it beat on culture, history and beauty.

Enjoy, Donna (Virginia Beach)

Hello John (and Kay)

I, too envy Kay, getting to move to the UK.  My family is from Arkansas, the northwest corner, so I feel ery attached to that part of the US!
