Hello everybody!

I'm Noelia and I'm from Barcelona (Spain) but at the moment I'm living in Málaga.I'm 27 years olf and I'm a lover of everything that has to do with England, that's why I'm an English teacher and also an Spanish teacher for english people. I was living one year in Newcastle 5 years ago, with a grant at university and it was one of the greatest experiences of my live, beautiful places and very nice people with a difficult accent I should say, but it really helped me to know that not only standard English exists and now I can understand better all kind of accents. Well here you have a little piece of me. Thanks for everything

Regards

Noelia

Hi Noelia.  What a beautiful name.  Yes, accents are difficult, aren't they?  So is just some of the differences within languages.  I used to work for a couple - the husband was from Mexico and the wife was from Spain - they both spoke Spanish, but could not understand one another when they first met.

If you're homesick for England, you've come to the right place.  I hope you love it here.

Welcome to the site Noelia. The Geordie accent can be a very strong one - I think we have understood it better since Ant & Dec, Cheryl Cole and Auf Wiedersehen Pet (all famous people/shows from the Newcastle area). I am from the Black Country in the Heart of England and we in this area also have strong accents & language all of our own.
