I have recently joined this discussion group and am pleased to be a member. I am 63 years of age, unmarried, and have been employed as Professor & Fine Arts Librarian at Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington, Illinois since 1980. A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, I hold degrees in sacred music, religion, musicology, and library science from Hope College (1970), Eastern Michigan University (1972), and the University of Michigan (1980). I have also attended the Royal School of Church Music, Croydon, Surrey, and the University of Quebec at Montreal. I have served as church organist for several Episcopal (ECUSA) parishes in Michigan and Illinois. For the past 15 years, I have sung tenor in the Canterbury Choir of the Chapel of St. John-the-Divine in Champaign, Illinois and occasionally supply at the organ as needed. I have traveled to the U.K. on numerous occasions over the course of my professional career both as a tourist (on pilrimage), or in conjunction with an academic course which I co-lead, on the Plantagenet dynasty. I have a particular interests in medieval, ecclesiastical architecture and its relationship to liturgical music. I can think of few things more delectable than a good piece of stilton and a bottle of claret. Cheers, Bob

Plantagenet history is my favourite period to study. Look forward to viewing your pictures of England, and getting to know you better here on the forum. |
