Greetings from U.S.

Timothy Kingsley here. I'll be moving to England this fall, as stated in my thread; http://www.picturesofengland.com/forum/General_England_Chat/3774

I grew up in Rhode Island, and hated it there. Them and their annoying accents, and so I now live in North Carolina. I'm 100% English, and on my few trips to England I feel as though that is where I belong. I am a professional photographer and I had my doctorate in vet medicine. 

I have one small issue though, being a conservative here in America I'm not sure if people in England are as picky with their political beliefs and will rip me to shreds if I don't agree with "liberal" ideas.

Welcome again, Tim.  That's great that you will have an opportunity to live in England.  As for your political views, England is a free country, like the US, so it's OK to express your opinions.  As long as you're respectful of others, I would guess you shouldn't have any problems.

Hi Tim and welcome, here in the UK we all have different political views but we tolerate others that dont have the same views as ourself and respect their opinions, its rude not to. You appear, wrongly in my opinion,  to suguest that we are a 'liberal' country, we cover the wide political spectrum, but hopefully do not support or tolerate extreme groups. We tend not to be racist but in general we are proud nationalists. We are proud of our history (although some of it was gruesome). We try to assist those who need help throughout the world, and try to play by the rules, we believe in 'fair-play' but anyone thinking we are 'soft touch' will soon find out differently. We have fought for freedom and the freedom of others in almost every 'theater' worldwide and although we are only a small group of islands in comparrison to other land masses on this planet, we have done our bit (and still are), in helping to shape its existance.

I hope your stay in the UK is successful. 

All I meant was compared to American government it's liberal, and that's what I've been told by people who have gone there on business. Sorry for jumping to conclusions and ignorant :\ . Of course I'm respectful towards others opinions, so I should be good. Thankyou !
