Hi, my name is Sylvia, I have been married for 34yrs and have 2 married daughter and a 10mth old grandson. I also have 2 foster daughters, 2 foster granddaughters, a foster son and foster grandson.

I am a full time nurse working in elderly urgent care.

I have been researching my family history now for 25yrs and in that time have built up a database with over 5,000 names and 300 different family lines. I have researched both my son-in-laws familys and my foster childrens familys as well as undertaking research for many friends. I have completed an online geneaolgy course recieving a certification in genealogy, and also a course on One Name Studys. I am also doing one on heraldry which is taking some time to complete due to the site being slow to add lessons.

If anyone would like lookups please let me know

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I have lived near Bakewell in Derbyshire for the past 30yrs, moving here from Rugby and before that Coventry. I have enjoyed looking at the photos of both these places on here and a lot has changed in Coventry, there never used to be a canopy over Godiva's statue, it was the popular meeting place ofr couples LOL.

We still visit Rugby on a regular basis as my mother-in-law and all my husbands relatives are still there. My brother is still in Coventry and my sister in Rugby, my parents moved to Skegness in Lincolnshire 20yrs ago, so am going looking for photos of there now.

Thanks again for the warm welcome

What a wally I am      ! It's been a bad few weeks (month, two months), so forgive me   .

Sylvia, I LOVE the Bakewell area. Our family stayed up there once, and my little boy fell in the River Dove.

Great memories of a truly picturesque place!

Sylvia click on the smiley in the bottom right hand corner, it takes a couple of seconds for a box to come up,  just click on the emoticon you would like to add .  (But you won't get one's like Sue has!! unfortunately, she is the real queen of the emoticons!)

Sue you are not the only one - a couple of days ago a new member wrote a line at the top and I read that and not that it was a user introduction, I kindly explained about going to user introductions so everyone could say hi.  What an idiot I felt when I noticed it later - except no one told me! so I could feel like a Wally all on my ownEmbarassed
