Hello from California

Thanks for your suggestions Cathy.  It just so happens that I am now trying to pare down my itinerary somewhat after reading similar advice from Ron to another traveler.  Problem is there is so much to see.  As for rail travel, we likely will do that to get into London as I understand car travel there is difficult, but in the country I would like the freedom of a car.
