I am so happy to find this delightful website, and already my enjoyment of the various links is enormous! What wonderful pictures!! Three of my grandparents came from England. I have visited once and am returning next spring (I can hardly wait, and these pictures are making me more anxious to get there!) I have done a lot of research on Ancestry.com and I love the things I have discovered. It has fuelled my determination to come back to Britain. My main feeling while looking at these pictures is 'homesickness' - now how can that be, when I have never lived here?? |

To rustyruth - my mother's grandparents were born in West Bromwich, Staffs, and I have a couple family connections remaining there which have been re-established. My dad's father, and his parents were from Knaresborough, Yorkshire and his mom from Boroughbridge, Yorks. Her parents were from Filey and Doncaster, Yorks. There are a few second cousins still there. Thank you for the warm welcome. I am excited to be on board! |

Could your feeling of "homesickness" means that you may very well be in love already with this wonderful country ? Have you planned to visit specific places related to your ancestors, maybe ? What is sure is that POE gathers some of the finest pictures featuring England which will give you a pre-taste of your experience to come ! Karim Edited by: victorian67 at:2nd April 2013 07:26 |
