The only difference I can see is resizing and removal of the EXIF data from Charles's copyright image. PS you mention on your description of your picture that the church is somewhere you want to visit soon ! Maybe you can take your own pic of it when you do so.

Isn't it just slightly against the rules to take someone elses photo, treat it as your own and then re-submit it to POE ? Why not just make a comment on the original. Unless there has been some gross misunderstanding of how the site works by Lisa then I'm a bit confused. |
Dave John Posts: 22335 Joined: 27th Feb 2011 Location: England | quotePosted at 16:43 on 2nd June 2013 Basically it is illegal as the photo is copyrighted to the person who takes it . Plus every photo on here shows under the photo copyright to whoever the photographer is. Even if someone pays you to take photos for them the copyright stays with you ..... unless you sign that over...... and if you ever do that, don't let it go cheaply!!!! Hopefully Lisa is simply unaware.....but removing the EXIF requires knowledge........ |

Under no circumstances must you submit pictures unless you own the Copyright that's it, no if and buts! If you do own the Copyright then why would you or somebody else change the size and remove data? If I am wrong then I apologise and ask you to re-submit the picture, but considering the POE members comments throughout you could be in breach of not only Copyright Law, but POE's rules also, that is totally unnacceptable and could lead to your account being deleted. Thank you to the sharp eyed POE members for giving Lisa an opportunity to explain this matter. |

Just takle note that you can only upload photos that you have taken yourself. There is still a wealth of information here that you avail yourself of. It was obviously a mistake through lack of knowing what you can and can't do. So get your camera and see what photos you have and lets see what you've got. You will soon get into the swing of it. We not a nasty bunch quite tghe opposite infact, you find us very helpful and friendly. Have a look at a few of the forum threads and join in. You will be very welcome and i can assure you, you will not regret finding this site. |

Had the members not spotted this, you may well have been hauled through the Courts for a Copyright claim, which could have been very costly for something that was just an innocent act, so as Dave says above you don't have to leave us it's over, finished with. Further, I can edit the above posts to make you feel a little happier. That said, I congratulate the members on not only keeping you safe, but POE as well. Let me know what you would like to do please, but the best way to get over it is to get your camera out as Dave says. |
