"Thank you Edward it is great o find out these things, we have some amazing stuff still around. And I am pleased you like my photos. I take anything that I feel is interesting or nice to look at and especially anything that makes me smile. Thats what life is all about. Thank you " - Barbara Whiteman(4th July 2019)

Last post - from Budleigh
"Sadly, this image seems to sum up the state of our nation. I can imagine that the car which hit it was badly damaged. It would take quite an impact to fracture the cast-iron." - Edward Lever(3rd July 2019)

"I like that you take pictures of a wide range of subjects, Barbara. The above image is a fine example of Victorian industrial architecture. It is a Grade I listed building and even gets a mention in Pevsner's 'Buildings of England'. " - Edward Lever(3rd July 2019)

Photo of Reading by: Edward Lever

Thames Lido, Reading
"I was going to discount this picture, Edward, but then I read your description. What a loss to Reading its demolition would have been. I think it's vital that history, not necessarily Edwardian but any history, must be retained so future generations can enjoy the buildings and look at them too." - Mobscooter(3rd July 2019)

Aldeburgh beach
"A nice scene that is quite like Budleigh Salterton with pebbles, boats and sea. Even the plants look similar." - Mobscooter(3rd July 2019)

"I agree with you Edward, the picture certainly catches the eye and makes you think. A nice shot, Chris." - Mobscooter(3rd July 2019)

"What an interesting structure! I thought could it be some Italian campanile? but no, this is Grimsby. I love our industrial heritage and it prompted me to check out what it is.......It is a hydraulic accumulator tower which was used to provide high pressure water to operate the dock gates. It is good you take pictures of everything, Barbara, carry on the good work. " - Edward Lever(2nd July 2019)

The Village
"I feel you are a very rude person and to write your comments in the way you have is totally out of order. I am not a professional photographer and I have never proclaimed to be. I take photos of things I like and this was a wonderful little cottage with much character, I agree the light was not brilliant but still a lovely building. Should I only take photos in the sun. NO. This was taken 7 years ago but the photo is honest and not tampered with. And thats the way I like England honest and not tampered with. Your opinion of how to promote England must differ a lot from mine. We live in the most amazing country and I love it through and through. But we are what we are and it is not looking perfect it is being alive, " - Barbara Whiteman(2nd July 2019)
