Chrome Hill in the Peak District, Derbyshire Taken from a high point called Merryton Low on the Staffordshire Moorlands. Th evillage of Hollinsclough, Staffordshire lies in the valley in front of Chrome Hill. Chrome Hill is known as a "reef knoll" since it was a reef in a tropical sea some 350 million years ago, buried under sediment but then exposed again by glacier erosion in the ice age. View South-West from Axe Edge Moor, Peak District, Derbyshire As far as I can ascertain, the furthest hill is about 50 miles away in the Shropshire Hills near Shrewsbury. Most of the landscape is in Staffordshire. The trees are above Gradbach, for example.
