Rooftop Heron, Chepstow. " A good view from up here "............. Very surprised to see this heron land on the roof of a nearby house. A long way from the river but maybe checking out a fish pond ? The owner of the nearby pond told me later that he had lost most of his fish ! 'Golden Gate', M48 Severn Bridge, Chepstow. I was hoping the sun would rise behind the bridge but it rose on the right. The view from my flat still gives the sunrise to the left. Because the shortest day has now passed the sunrise will be going from right to left. Today's viewpoint should eventually give a sunrise directly behind the bridge, maybe February or March. The Wye nearly at it's end, Chepstow. The tree cutting team working on the railway bank have left the gate in my dog walk field unlocked ! The track is about 200 foot below where I was standing.
