Hi
I live in Nottinghamshire and near to Wollaton Hall which is a large deer park, i spend lots of time photographing the local area and have a small info website on Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
We aren't far from the Derbyshire and South Yorkshire countryside and also Lincolnshire and the coast being in the central east midlands so theres lots to see tourism wise.
I love the outdoors and natue and am happiest when i'm out and about - although there are some really good theatres (and not just in Nottingham City) and shopping centres and there are boutique shops and art galleries dotted all over the East Midlands for those rainy days and evenings too.
I am happy to help folks who want to visit this area.
I am presently looking through all my photos to find the best ones to add to the site from the hundreds in my collection, and making some photo tours too.
I hope to add a few articles about some of the attractions and characters from Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in the coming weeks - maybe months, we have the birthplace of DH Lawrence, Alan Silitoe, Byron, are famous for machined lace made in the late 1800s and of course have the legend of Robin Hood and the Sheriff and Nottingham Castle (there really was a riot in the Walled City in the 1500s with the rioters armed with bows and arrows!) Sherwood Forest with the major oak is in the County and has a lovely craft hall close by.
I have lived here for most of my life and it is apparently the most visited county outside of London...there is a local county council website visitnottingham.com but i am not sure if it is being updated regularly... my own website links to theirs but i am sure that Pictures of England is more up to date for bookings.
I am trying to design websites and build up a very micro business around lifestyles on a micro budget.
I have a small micro micro travel itinery agency that is advertised in the local yellow pages for anyone who would like to discuss the local area on the internet to plan their visit to this area.
My hobby is really photography although i plan to try to turn it into part of my micro business. I also tutor at AS and A2 level, but thats another story.
