Name: Peter Higdon Country: England Joined: 2nd July 2015 |
After a lifetime in science and research science, I took up serious photography in 2003. At that time I joined two local camera clubs: Milton Photographic Club and Bottisham and Burwell Camera Club.
My main interests are garden photography and photographing the English countryside. I am interested in using intimate landscapes and the triptych and collage to portray these subjects.
Living as I do three miles north of Cambridge, I am surrounded by the intensively farmed flatlands of East Anglia. However, I believe there is beauty to be found even in these less than promising surroundings. Furthermore, I believe it is a quiet unspectacular beauty that brings a little bit of pleasure to a great many people on a lot of days. It is only after twelve years that I am even beginning to understand how to capture this beauty.
I am a passionate believer in photographing owns own locality. When I go on holiday, I want to see pictures of my holiday location taken by local people.
My current project is to photograph our local country park - Milton Country Park - throughout the year, recording and commenting on the changes during that time. I have started a blog recording work in progress on this.
So expect pictures from the Cambridge Fens and some local gardens from me.
