I was born on Saturday,September 13 1930 in the village of Great Lumley, County Durham. I was educated in schools in the area, and after passing my School Certificate instead of accepting a position in King's College,Newcastle on Tyne. I served my National Service in BAOR as a Military Policeman, and until 1954 also a reserve with the 50 Northumberland Division. I served 4 years with the Met. attached to the Saville Row station, married my sweetheart and off we went to Canada to start our new lives. We are still together, and she is a retired Manager with Bell Canada with 36 years service I am retired from the Toronto Police Service after 34 years.
