The Greyhound Inn, Tidmarsh The Greyhound Inn was originally was a 12th century cruck-framed cottage but for some time has been a grade 2 listed pub and restaurant. The old toll house in Tidmarsh Tidmarsh is a small village at the foot of the eastern Berkshire Downs beside the River Pang. The village is on an old Roman road which ran from Silchester to a river crossing at Pangbourne or possible on to Dorchester-on-Thames. It is likely the village had Saxon origins.
