Born and raised in Kansas, USA by my parents, a WWII GI (my father), and a WWII British Army/war bride (my mother). They met while both of them were on leave in London, kept in touch with each other through the end of the war, and then Mom moved to the US to marry her GI. She was from Nottingham, England. In 1988 she took 9 of her children and grandchildren to England for a 2 week tour of many of the places she had visited and loved as a child, and her young adult life. We were all enchanted with our English heritage, and the land of her birth....I hope one day to visit again, perhaps live there for a time. Mom and Dad are both gone now, but I will always cherish our memories of our trip, and all the insights and stories Mom told of her homeland.
