The remains of the former Huntley and Palmers biscuit factory purchased in 1846 after starting as a small bakery in 1822. By 1900, they had become the largest biscuit maker in the world employing over 5,000 people. It closed in 1976 with most of the factory complex demolished except for this part of it.

Part of the remains of Reading Abbey hidden behind The Blade office block in an area of Reading once known as the Colossus when several large office blocks had been planned for development around the Kings Rd area of Reading. The Central Library rear is seen beyond the ruins.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, Berkshire. It opened in 1839. In 1931 RAF pilot Douglas Bader (later Group Capt) had both his legs amputated here after his accident at Woodley aerodrome. Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was also born here.

Buses temporarily using Reading bus station while train bridge is being replaced at Reading rail station. Opened in 1968, this is the first time buses have used the bus station since c.1993 and is due for demolition in 2012. I first drove buses out of here in November 1987 after gaining my Class 1 and 3 PSV (now PCV) licence.
