Common darter dragonfly......sympetrum striolatum

I managed to get a real close-up of this absolutely beautiful dragonfly without disturbing him.

Brown Argus.......aricia agestis (female)

These butterflies can be seen between April and September....you need good eyesight though, they really are tiny. This one is a female, I managed to capture a picture of her when her wings were open for a second as well.

Brown hawker dragonfly (female).....aeshna grandis

This beautiful female brown hawker is depositing eggs underwater. The eggs will adhere to the sticks or twigs and remain safe from fish until they hatch. I feel priviledged to have seen and photographed this taking place.
