The Long Garden at Cliveden and statue of Beatrice The Long Garden, as its name suggests, consists of a long narrow garden with a central path. The garden is decorated in the Italian style with various statues and ornaments. Unfortunately, the garden is a little bare at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions on garden maintenance. Statues at the door of the East Wing of Cliveden House These two statues date from the early 1900's, but have only recently been restored and put on display at the side entrance to Cliveden House. The Blenheim Pavilion at Cliveden This intriguing building was designed in 1727 for George Hamilton,1st Earl of Orkney, to celebrate the Earl's part in the Battle of Blenheim (1704). The architect was Giacomo Leoni of Venice. Pagoda in Water Garden at Cliveden The Pagoda (which was originally designed for Napoleon III's Paris Exposition Universelle of 1867) was in several locations before ending up at Cliveden. Recent additions to the Pagoda are the golden bells around the circumference, a feature which has been missing from the Pagoda for over a hundred years. The two statues seen here depict Arlecchino (Harlequin) on the left, and Columbina (Columbine) on the right.
