About Me

Hi all, my name is James Evelyn, I am now retired as a General Building Contractor and living in Mariposa, CA USA.
My hobbies are remodeling my house, and genealogy. My wife and I recently returned from a visit to England were I have many roots in the London, and Surrey areas.
My 10th great grandfather George Evelyn b. 1526 purchased the Wotton House on Guilford Rd. in 1579, with the proceeds from making gunpowder. About a year ago I read that there is pictures on the stair cases of the Wotton House of my family members. Well, I found the paintings of 3 men and 4 women and don't you know none of them were identified and none of the employees knows who they are.
Soon I will upload some images of them with hopes that somebody will be able to ID them for me.
