Scattered Millstones.

These lime millstones were made by the stone masons for the old mills. Later they would have been used for replacements. However lots were never used, and were left behind from bygone days!

Howden Reservoir  Peak District Derbyshire.

Howden Reservoir Peak District Derbyshire.

Howden Dam & Reservoir, Peak District. Taken late morning after making a steep climb up, to take the picture. Handheld with a Canon S70 digital camera. Was it worth it? Footnote.. This dam and the Derwent Dam were used by the RAF 617 squadren (Dambusters) in 1943. They practiced bomb runs over these Reservoirs in preperation to bomb the Ruhr Dam in Germany.
