The Kings Room at Langtry Manor With its original Jacobean four poster bed, inglenook fireplace with hand painted gold leaf scenes of Shakespeare and huge dome ceiling, the Kings Room was built for when the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) used to stay - in the house that was built for Love. Edward commissioned the new house as somewhere to get away with his mistress Lillie Langtry. Langtry Manor in Bournemouth Built in 1877 by Edward VII, then Prince of Wales for his mistress and the woman he loved - Lillie Langtry. Visitors are welcome to come for a coffee or a Cream Tea and have a look around this historic building.
