This telephone box outside the Inn has been this grey 'undercoat' colour for as long as I can remember. Not only needs a lick of RED paint but a lot of TLC is required to bring back to it's former glory. Wonder if it even works!!

Situated at the very top of the Kirkstone Pass between Windermere, Ambleside and Ullswater. Regularly cut off from civilisation during the winter months because of snow and ice

The Struggle 1

The Struggle is the local name for the Kirkstone Pass road out of Ambleside as opposed to the main one from Windermere up over the top then down towards Ullswater. This is from halfway up the Struggle looking back towards Ambleside and Windermere, and the day did not get any brighter til much later in the day
