Langdale Pikes from Loughrigg tarn The Langdale Pikes must be one of the most iconic views in the Lake District and are seen here from Loughrigg Tarn framed by a stile with the inevitable sheep getting in on the act This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
Langdale Pikes 2 Wider view of the Pikes a few hundred yards further on from the previous image. They really are a magnificent sight. One of my favourite sights in the Lake District This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |

Langdale Pikes from Windermere Early evening around 6.30 mid July, the Langdale Pikes as seen from the boat heading into Ambleside from Bowness. A fitting end to a wonderful day on the boats and trains. This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |

Langdale Pikes One of my favourite views in the Lake District. The Langdale Pikes from the path underneath Ivy Crag on route from Ambleside to Loughrigg Tarn and Grasmere. Langdale Pikes 3 No apology for more Langdale Pikes, they deserve to be seen! Even if I did get incredibly wet and dirty feet to capture them This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
Langdale Pikes 2 The Langdale Pikes again from the vicinity of Swinescar Pike on the fells overlooking the Langdale valley. This was one of the clear and relatively dry paths. I had already been ankle deep in water and was later to be well over ankle deep in boggy terrain.....BUT....it was fun! This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
Langdale Pikes 1 The majestic Langdale Pikes, one of my favourite sight of the Lake District. Unfortunately I cannot be too precise at my position as although I did not get lost I did lose my way a little but map and compass came to my aid. So somewhere in the vicinity of Lang How, Swinescar Pike and Raw Pike along the Northeastern ridge of the Langdale Valley. Fortunately the day was bright with good visibility and occasionally other folk around. But certainly a short sharp reminder of the dangers of the fells. A lot of the minor paths had been washed away by the waters from the melting snows. This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
The Langdale Valley Looking west along the Langdale Valley from the top of the northern edge of the fells overlooking the valley. Somewhere around Raw Pike I think for anyone who might want to follow my very wet footprints! This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
More Langdale Pikes Half an hour before the light would have been so much better but you can only work with what is in front of you. This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D 1 person has added this picture to their favourites |
Langdale Pikes 2 Another view of the Pikes from just east of Elterwater village. There is a very handy pull-in just past a cattle grid, but it gets very popular as you can imagine This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
Langdale Pikes 1 The Majestic Langdale Pikes. We had spent too long at Tarn Hows really and just missed out the best light This picture appears in the following picture tour: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
