World of Beatrix Potter The home of the Beatrix Potter centre in Bowness. Loads to see and plenty to buy, beautifully made cuddly toys of Peter Rabbit and his freinds. Well worth a visit. Bowness on Windermere Bowness looking south west from Lake Road. Carry on down the the hill to get to the lake front. Two hours prior to this we were in torrential rain driving over the Kirkstone Pass through puddles the full width of the road. Such is the microclimate of this area.
