Torver Commons 2, Coniston Looking eastwards from the top of Torver Common across Coniston water to the slopes of Grizedale Forest. The couple in the distance seemed to be debating which way to go! It has to be said some of the 'paths' across the common are little more than sheep trails. We ended up taking a wrong turn a bit later on but eventually found the shore albeit not where we intended. A Coniston Dog I simply had to upload this, an icon of the English countryside. A beautiful Welsh Border Collie. This gorgeous little chap, or chappess, tagged on to us as we had a walk round the Coniston Boatyard area 15-12-11 during a break in the weather. It belonged to one of the lads working in the boatyard but followed us around for 20 minutes, on and off. A truly beautiful image of England I think you will agree.
