Haverthwaite station 6 The end of the line. The station buildings track-side from the footbridge. Just in front of the tunnel entrance is the water tower where the engines are uncoupled and watered. Haverthwaite bird table A Robin and a Blue Tit on a bird table across the track from the station buildings, must have been 25-30 yards distant, so quite a small crop from the original frame. Preparing for the return to Lakeside Having pulled the train into Haverthwaite station and filled up with water the engine makes its way to the other end of the train to pull it back to Lakeside. Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway Steam train just leaving Lakeside at the bottom end of Windermere for the short journey down to Haverthwaite. Catch the boat in Ambleside, stop off in Bowness for a while, catch next boat to Lakeside hop on the train to Haverthwaite and stroll down to the Anglers Arms in Haverthwaite for sustenance. Back to the station for the train back to Lakeside and the boat back via Bowness to Ambleside. A great day out.
