Wet and windy Ullswater The weather forcast for Ullswater today 6-9-11....Wet and windy with occasional sunny spells. Had a lot of wet, felt a lot of wind, didn't see much sun. Heading south from Pooley Bridge towards Howtown where we should have got to walk 6 or 7 miles back to Glenridding. Ullswater A lousy day on the Ullswater steamer, with occasional break in the cloud as here. Heading north from Glenridding towards Howtown before going on to Pooley Bridge Quite pleased when I think of how the boat was bouncing around in the wind... Low flying excercise A touch of excitement to break the monotony of the wind and rain. RAF low flying exercise, and sods law had the wrong ruddy lens on and no time to change it. Even more annoying this guy was accompanied by an Apache (I think) gunship, albeit a bit out of range, but great to see. Another sunny outbreak Mid afternoon almost back to Glenridding, the sun tried to get through again!!! It was quite strange really, such a lot of cloud yet so bright with it. The climate is definitley changing!!! 15 minutes later back to torrential rain for the drive down to Bowness. But what the hell we were on holiday and enjoying it.
