Cill Chriosd Cill Chriosd (Christ's Church or 'Kilchrist') is a ruined former Parish Church of Strathaird. It was constructed around the 16th century, replacing an earlier Medieval church on the same location, and was used until 1840 when the Parish Church was relocated to Broadford. It lies on the B8083 Broadford to Torrin and Elgol road. The ruins of the church lie at the top of a small mound, surrounded by the graveyard. Uig The Fraser’s Folly in the foreground. It was built in 1870 on the instruction of Captain Fraser, a landlord and the Laird of Kilmuir. His infamy was to evict crofters from farming land and use it to graze his sheep. The folly is owned by one of the former owners of Uig Hotel and who lives in the village.
