About Ferndown

This town lies amidst noted countryside between Wimborne Minster and Ringwood. It is a modern town which draws its prosperity from its close proximity to Bournemouth and Poole.

Until the past century this was a little known place which was sparsely populated. The town was "put on the map" by two market gardeners who left their homeland of Scotland to set up in business in a softer more gentle climate. The fact that their business prospered is largely responsible for the town we see today.

The town is well known for the popular tourist attraction of what was once a former convent, Stapehill Abbey and Knoll Gardens can be found within easy driving distance.

The town has pleasant pubs, inns, restaurants and cafe's. It lies on the main tourist route to Poole
